"This is a painting taken from the DuPont estate in Pennsylvania. There is actually an ornate gazebo next to this pond which I couldn't quite make work. So one day I painted over it (an advantage to oil paints) and here was this glorious scene. Some of the trees in the background have not fully leafed this early in the spring and the grays and pinks definitely add interest and contrast." Joann Rea
